About
What’s The Story Founder and Chief Storyteller Puja Disha Bharwani has been creating stories for media outlets, startups, MNCs, financial institutions and social enterprises for over 15 years. She is passionate about telling a good story in an engaging way to niche audiences. Her stories for digital content marketing campaigns have become part of larger customer conversations with their intuitive headlines, intriguing content and positively successful social media response. The proof is in the data! The awareness that is built around the brand after every campaign is large and noteworthy.
She is a content strategist and writer for international yet localised content marketing campaigns. She has spearheaded brand strategy, produced web copy and UXcontent for many startups and companies in the financial (Temasek), pharmaceutical (Abbott), legal (Linklaters), technology (Grab) and FMCG (Pampers) sectors.
“For me, it is about subtly appealing to your audience, yet leaving a lasting impression on them and making them think and reassess certain things in life. I aim to give them a deeper insight into issues that are central to their lives.”
Puja is passionate about clear and effective communication through storytelling on different platforms. She conducts niche workshops for corporations and does individual consultations for executives who want to find their story and confidently communicate who they are to the outside world.
As an international television journalist for Thomson Reuters for many years, Puja covered significant news stories such as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami aftermath in Indonesia, Nepal’s democracy protests against the King in 2006 and Burma’s 2007 Saffron Revolution. For her Burma coverage, she was a part of the multimedia team that won the “Story of the Year” award from Thomson Reuters for her video coverage of the protests. She has interviewed high profile celebrities from Bollywood such as Shah Rukh Khan & Amitabh Bachchan and Hollywood celebrities such as Harrison Ford & Liam Neeson during her time working for Reuters in New York and Singapore.
Travelling, especially with her three young children, is another strong passion for Puja. She is a regular contributor to Conde Nast Traveller (India) where she writes stories about Singapore and the many things it has to offer to a discerning traveller. She also writes about authentic travel experiences she has had in her personal travels.
Puja received her M.A. in Broadcast Journalism from New York University in 2002. She has a B.A (Hons) in English Literature from the National University of Singapore.
